OK, so I have watched three episodes now and I get the feeling that the first season was more emotional then the second one. I shall go into various stories later to explain what I mean, but first thing that has gotten my attention, lol, is that Mel used to be more fashionable/stylish. I LOVED her coats from the first season, second season Mel wears more everyday kind of outfits, nothing that would stand out. So I think the fashion person/team for Mel is a different people in season 2, lol.

One thing that has become very enjoyable for me while watching these episodes is the nature. And they show us enough nature, which is really good. I started to think did we get more Mel and Jack outing in the first season then in the second, I have to count, lol, but does not seems like it.
.
In the first season Jack took Mel out to the lake, showed her eagles, it is such an enjoyable scene to watch. Then in the second season we saw Mel running into Jack while he was fishing. The first season Jack took Mel and Chloe on a picnic, in the second season we had Mel spending some time with Jack after his friends left, walking in the woods before coming in contact with the Sheriff that had found a body. So the difference as I see it between the outings are that the first season were planned while the second season were more of chance encounter. Which one I enjoyed more watching, lol, probably the planned ones.

We got a glimpse of batting cage in both seasons. However, the first season was more enjoyable to watch, lol.
.
So the fourth episode is the story of Hope after her heartache. I want to compare that with Charmaine being treated for morning sickness. Which was more enjoyable to watch? What do you think Rachelle? lol.
.
Be back for more comparison, overall I think I would give first season an A, and second season B+. Just because, in the first season we had Jack and Mel going on a date, in the second one we had Doc/Hope/Muriel going out. I don’t have to say which one I found more enjoyable to watch, right, lol.
.
And watching the first seasons I realized that we finally got introduced to Mr. Fitch and he was not handsy, lolol.
.
So I am back to what I said before, they have so much story line and hence can give us more episodes. For example we were never told how Lilly delivered Chloe, what happened in that three weeks. We were never introduced to Lilly’s adult daughter Tera. I would have not mind watching that story unfold.

Then there was a scene where Paige meets Mel at Jack’s. That scene gave me the impression that these two are going to become great friends. I think that was the only interaction we saw between Mel and Paige. I have to watch more episodes to see if I am right.

I think Paige was written out of second season since there was no time to have her around. The story of Jack/Charmaine/twins/Mel took over the second season. Not complaining about that story, I just think we need longer season so that they would be able to give all characters enough/proper screen time.

LOL! I don’t know if the writers are different or if they simply wrote Mel differently…I think maybe stylish city-slicker Mel went from city sleek to country chic because she can read a town. LOL! No need to break out the Louis Vuitton or Prada unless she’s hanging at some fancy function with Muriel…Plus she’s getting comfy with her position as midwife/Nurse practitioner and she doesn’t have to put on her Sunday best for that…

Take for instance the lovely dress she wore to the hootenanny community picnic–it was nice and simply casual…She’s not ready for full-on denim overalls but she knows how to look good no matter where she is…

I know the townspeople are trusting…but I’m not. LOL! When Mel left the donations box to go speak with Jack about the town gossip…I thought someone was going to steal the money…And by someone I mean Brady. LOL! He’s working for Calvin but doesn’t expect to do any dirty work and he’s always looking for easy money…I expected Mel to return to the donations table and find the box gone–no sign of all cash and checks, with Brady lurking nearby…

Mel: “What the…??…Brady…Did you happen to see anyone make off with the donations box? I was only gone a minute…”

Brady: “Was it a box about yay high full of cash and personal checks?”

Mel: ” Yes!”

Brady: ” Nope…Haven’t see it.”

And what’s with Lizzie taking Hope’s credit card but not using it? LOL!…Or should we expect a sh*tload of boxes from Amazon in the next couple of days?

I know I’m all over he place with episodes–just trying not to forget things to rant about. LOL!…Like Mel’s sister-in-law calling Jack the sexiest lumberjack she’s ever seen. LOL! Hello? Brawny paper towels guy? LOL! But only because Jack isn’t a lumberjack–then her statement would be true. LOL! And I wouldn’t give her the family engagement ring unless she pried it from my cold dead finger…Speaking of finger–I’d give her the middle one and keep it moving. LOL!

Mel told Jack to leave Calvin and crew alone–they’re dangerous…and Jack said something about bullies taking over if you don’t stand up to them…I would only agree with that if we were all in high school BEFORE the 1980s–because after that kids brought guns to school…This isn’t some playground bully taking over the monkey bars…Calvin has guns and isn’t afraid to use them–ALLEDGEDLY. LOL!…Just leave him alone and let the law take care of him.

When Connie got in Mel’s face about Lizzie’s birth control prescription…I wanted Mel to head-butt her. Seriously–I’m nonviolent but that’s the first thing that came to mind. Just one head-butt and it’s goodnight Connie. LOL! Connie was like: meet me outside…I wanted Mel to let her go out the door first then lock it behind her. LOL! Connie…f*ck all the way off. LOL

I prefer the morning sickness storyline to Hope’s heart attack storyline…Charmaine is doing the most to milk it too. LOL!

Gonna re-watch more episodes tonight. LOL!

Nah…My guess is that it’s some rando creeper who tried to rob Jack and got his ass handed to him (Jack mustered what energy he had left after lovemaking)…The perp shot Jack before running out the bar with a well-whupped ass…If Jack knows who shot him that will be problematic for an escapist melodrama. LOL! He knows who shot him unless he ends up with a bout of amnesia before the ambulance arrives…He’ll look up and see Mel’s face and fall in love all over again. LOL!

Ok…I re-watched a couple more eps last night…I think 7 and 8. LOL!…The one was with Connie running around like Ma Barker, asking Preacher to bring her some dirty clothes so she could create a rock solid alibi for him regarding the whole Paige/Wes situation…Because no one would ever suspect her…yada, yada, yada…Sounds like she’s done this before. LOL!

Definitely watched episode 8…The knitting circle is at Jack’s bar and Muriel is spilling the tea about Hope and Doc reuniting when Hope comes in to join them…The ladies give their two cents and Connie tells Hope not to do too much or whatev…when the other lady looks at Connie and says something like: that’s rich coming from someone who has never been married. I choked a bit. LOL!
